The X-Drive is a bit more complex to build than either the Tank or Mecanum Drives, but it allows for greater maneuverability than the Mecanum Drive. Advantages and Disadvantages: The X-Drive is the most maneuverable Vex drivetrain and, unlike the Mecanum Drive, its forward speed is equal to its sideways speed.

1/3/2020  · For an X Drive, think of your coordinate system offset by 45 degrees. Rotational translation is the term to learn here. You think of the wheels in a different coordinate system than the robot’s forward facing and field coordinates of X and Y. When programming, look how far each wheel goes at the direction of the wheel’s travel.

5/14/2019  · We decided on an x drive this year because the field… In this video we test out our new x drive for vex tower takeover and drive it around for a little while.

4/28/2019  · Just a short video showcasing my x drive CAD on Robot Mesh for vex tower takeover that we will hopefully use this year since strafing should be pretty useful.

5/7/2017  · This video should take you through the assembly and programming of a VEX Holonomic Drive. My students had trouble with these so hopefully this help demystif…

A bracket to connect two VEX EDR 1 c-channels at a 135 degree angle. The intended purpose is to assemble holonomic X-Drive drive trains. (We do not have many of the metal gussets and I prefer them to stay connected to the claw kits… so we drew up and printed these. There was a version with rounded corners, but with a sharper corner, we were able to print this version without support.), The vex Wiki has some sample code for you. Some variations on the tank drive have been done to make the joystick less responsive for giving fine control. Some easier means are to divide the channel in half. But then you have to switch between half and full power. Some more complex means are to apply a logarithmic function to give fine control …
